This morning, the Carlyle Group and Nielsen Holdings announced that Carlyle, in partnership with the Indian Hill Group, has acquired Claritas (and all segmentation solutions) from Nielsen. The Indian Hill Group is a small team led by myself and is comprised of the former leadership team of Nielsen Catalina Solutions.
Claritas is the business unit within Nielsen that is currently known as Consumer Activation. It is a stand-out industry leader for segmentation solutions and was previously known and branded as Claritas since the 1970's. Moving forward, we are restoring the legacy name of Claritas to encompass the segmentation solutions of this business.
We are confident this news will benefit you. Not only will you continue to have access to all of the same high-quality products and services you have come to depend on, you now will enjoy the added bonus of a smaller, more nimble company with increased flexibility and the ability to invest in innovation. As part of this announcement, Claritas is maintaining a Reseller Agreement with Nielsen to enable continued customer access to all affected products and services for the long-term.

As part of the transaction, Nielsen has entered into a Reseller Agreement to enable Nielsen clients' access to Claritas products and services. Over time, we aim to bring new, cutting edge innovations to help customers maximize marketing investments and enable qualitative decision-making.
