About Our CEO - Mike Nazzaro

With a background that includes the world's top consumer product maker, leading marketing intelligence agencies and his own technology start-ups, Mike is a proven and sought after general manager, adept in running established and early-stage businesses. Prior to launching Claritas in 2017, Mike founded and built the highly successful company Nielsen Catalina Solutions (NCS), over the past 7 years.

I am writing to introduce myself and share some exciting news with you. This morning, the Carlyle Group and Nielsen Holdings announced that Carlyle, in partnership with the Indian Hill Group, has acquired Claritas (and all segmentation solutions) from Nielsen. The Indian Hill Group is a small team led by myself and is comprised of the former leadership team of Nielsen Catalina Solutions.

Claritas is the business unit within Nielsen that is currently known as Consumer Activation. It is a stand-out industry leader for segmentation solutions and was previously known and branded as Claritas since the 1970's. Moving forward, we are restoring the legacy name of Claritas to encompass the segmentation solutions of this business.

We are confident this news will benefit you. Not only will you continue to have access to all of the same high-quality products and services you have come to depend on, you now will enjoy the added bonus of a smaller, more nimble company with increased flexibility and the ability to invest in innovation. As part of this announcement, Claritas is maintaining a Reseller Agreement with Nielsen to enable continued customer access to all affected products and services for the long-term.

Both Carlyle and the Indian Hill Group believe Claritas' heritage, powerful products and talented team are the right ingredients to drive innovation as we help you market to your consumers more effectively. As a standalone company, Claritas will be more agile and take a more proactive and forward-looking approach to lead big data driven growth in consumer insights.

      Claritas' best-in-class client services, proprietary technology and preeminent products and solutions will remain unchanged throughout a seamless transition to a standalone company. Customers will continue to have access to the products and services they have come to depend on from Claritas, with limited disruption to their current relationship. As part of the transaction, Nielsen has entered into a Reseller Agreement to enable Nielsen clients' access to Claritas products and services. Over time, we aim to bring new, cutting edge innovations to help customers maximize marketing investments and enable qualitative decision-making. We will share more details on this as they become available.

    Will my existing contract(s) with Claritas remain valid?

      Customers' existing contracts will remain the same. There will be no changes in this regard as a result of this transaction. If there are any changes in the future, these will be communicated directly to our customers.
